Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction is not therapy, counseling, or pastoral care. Spiritual direction focuses on your relationship with God and increasing your awareness of his presence in your daily, ordinary life. While you will bring what is most important and real with you each month to direction, we will focus on where God is present to you in that moment or circumstance and where God might be extending an invitation to you.

Confidentiality

Spiritual directors are ethically bound to confidentiality. This confidentiality creates a safe environment where clients can share their deepest feelings and most important life experiences. However, some important exceptions exist.

  • I am required by law to report any and all suspected child abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse. I will notify the appropriate authorities immediately if and when I suspect a minor, dependent, or elder is being abused.

  • If a client threatens serious bodily harm to another person or persons, I will notify the police and the intended victim.

  • If a client is in danger of committing suicide, I will make every effort to get that client to safety.

Supervision

As a spiritual director, I am required to work with an experienced spiritual director supervisor regularly who helps me become a better spiritual director. 

​

I may present general content information from a session with the intention of learning about myself and growing as a spiritual director. No names, specific information, or identifying characteristics will be disclosed. All content is shared confidentially. I believe your story is yours alone to share.
